Milletniñ Ğururu (Pride of the Nation): Billboard Project. 2012

The “Pride of the Nation” billboard project presenting prominent figures of the Crimean Tatar people.

▸ To promote Crimean Tatar culture and raise the prestige of the Crimean Tatar people, the "Pride of the Nation" (Milletniñ Ğururu) project was carried out in 2012 with the support of İbrahim Feva Aracı, Chairman of the Kocaeli Crimean Tatar Association, and under the leadership of Dr. Tahir Nureddinoğlu Kerim.

▸ The project sought to introduce to the public the leading writers and thinkers of the "Terciman" newspaper and the First Crimean Tatar Kurultai period — pioneers of the struggle for freedom and rights. Billboards and city lights in Simferopol and other Crimean towns displayed portraits of figures such as Ismail Gasprinsky, Noman Chelebicihan and Cafer Seydahmet together with quotations from their works. The texts were written in Crimean Tatar and Russian, reaching a wide audience.
