Abstract. The goal of this work is to determine the peculiarities and origins of the artistic thinking of the twentieth-century Crimean Tatar writer Mehmet Nüzhet. The methodological and theoretical framework of the research comprises the works of U. Ipchi, E. Shemizade, J. Bekirov, A. Altanly, I. Kerimov, Y. Kandymov and others. M. Nüzhet's artistic heritage is diverse and unique: his poetry, prose and translations are imbued with national spirit, and the actions and feelings of his lyrical protagonists directly reflect the author's psychological state. Special attention is paid to the psychological type of the lyricist. Using comparative and textual analysis, the author examines M. Nüzhet's published and original handwritten texts.
